![]() The guy who came out this morning lowered the blower speed. I don't have enough posts yet to attach links to the PDFs I found, but page 8 on the Trane TEM6 product data PDF and page 12 on the Trane TEM6 installer's guide. I unfortunately don't know the exact TEM6 model I have installed - I will be calling to find out. When I Googled the TEM6 specs, the Trane guide I found had a couple of TEM6 versions that seemed to match with a 2-ton. If they seem lost ask for a senior tech, the manager or a Trane rep to come out.Hmmm. Talk with your contractor and ask these questions. I will have to have them back yet again, so I'd like to get some idea of what to get them to look out, since last time they said it was running as it should.Ī quick search pulled up some install instructions that did NOT show a 2 ton unit, only as small as a 2.5, compatible with the TEM6.Īlso, some of those Trane air handlers CAN be set up for dehumidification without altering the cooling specific fan setting. I felt like I did a lot of research and picked a good company, but now I feel like I made a big mistake. I'm just beside myself, because I can't afford to have spent a lot of money for a new HVAC and it not perform. I got five estimates, and every company sized me for a 2-ton. System is a 2-ton Trane XR16 heat pump with a TEM6 variable speed air handler. I believe the humidity is too high, because the air constantly feels "heavy." I had them come out once, because the temperature wasn't getting cool enough - they adjusted the blower to blow more air, but now the humidity is higher. It is a very hot day, at 98 degrees, with 42% - so it's far more humid inside the house than out. It's incredibly uncomfortable and sticky in the house. Today the humidity is running at 62%, even though the target is 45%. I used to keep the A/C at 74 or 75 on the old system, but now I need to keep it at 71 or 72 to feel remotely comfortable. I don't feel comfortable, even when the temperature should be comfortable, like at 72 degrees. I had a new HVAC system installed a couple of weeks ago.
